These kind of post are probably getting a bit boring for everyone but winter is a slow time for us Muley guys.

This is my archery buck from this season and the taxidermist is nearly done with him. He was officially scored recently for Pope & Young.

Let's see how close you can guess on him.

great looking mount good job!

My guess is 170 but no matter what the score he is a great buck. What state is he from?

Great Looking Mount! Do you know what form (brand) your taxidermist used? I realy like how he looks. The form has a great deal to do with what your final mount looks like.

172 and he is 26 wide.

That is a great mount by the way.

Congrats.

My buck grossed 178 4/8 He netted 174 1/8

28.25 wide after drying

He was a Utah buck.

I don't know much about my taxidermist except his first name. He is related to a friend of mine. I will get all of the questions answered for you as far as the mount form and such.

I will post that info Monday.

I think the mount looks great. I am very much looking forward to hanging him at home. It's pretty cool to get him back so soon instead of the typical one year wait.

It looks like Manny wins. I missed by 2". Oh well, better luck next time

Congrats again on a great buck. If i remember right your dad killed an absolute giant buck. Why don't you do a similar post with his buck?

My dad's buck was scored the same night as mine.

I am going to wait until after the expo to post that bucks numbers.

The head will be finished and displayed at the expo. I am excited to see those antlers back on the head again. They just don't look the same when they are just on the skull plate.

Great looking deer!!! Even more impressive is that you stuck him in the archery hunt!!! He looks like a good 182"-185"

LAST EDITED ON Jan-15-09 AT 01:34PM (MST)[p]Is it going on a pedestal or is the back covered with leather and goes on the wall...if I am seeing the pic right.

Paul Penny showed me something similar and I was thinking of doing it with the deer I shot this fall with my bow.

It is a wall pedestal.

There is a leather backing that covers what would be the body cavity.

They look really good and are a bit different from what you usually see.

Congrats on such a fantastic buck. I hope you are satisfied with the mount and look forward to doing business with you again in the future. Thanks again, Jay
