I SHOULD HAVE THE POINTS TO DRAW THE BOOKS BUT HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A GOOD STARTING POINT ON THE MAPS

IT IS SUCH A BIG AREA AND SEAMS LIKE THEIR IS ALOT OF ROADS:-(

What kind of buck are you looking for. if its anything over 170 I would look somewhere else, not saying there not there but they are tough to find.

Alot of people that have never been out there have an image in there head on what they will see out there, usually put in there head by mags like Eastmans and Carters that talk it up, and when they get out there most are disapointed at the size of buck they are finding.

You will see a ton of deer but very few big ones, unless you know what your doing out there or get lucky and stumble on to one.

And there are roads or atv trails everywhere but the roadless area.

Good Luck.

You should be able to find plenty of good bucks from the road!
Mind you I did not say giant or huge but a good deer alot of guys would be happy to kill if you were not too caught up with score and stuff like that.

This is something you can likely find in the books. This was during the muzzleloader hunt a few years ago. It's not a 170 calss deer by any means but, a nice buck and one I was happy with.

Hate to break it to ya, but your still atleast 2 years out maybe
4 to be in the running for a bouns tag with 7 points. Make sure
when you check your odds you use the amount of points you had in 2008,
not what you have now. I am in the same boat as you are,
I have 7 points this year to.

Here is the link to the rifle odds with 6 points for the 2008 year.

http://monstermuleys.hunterstrailhe...=1&resident=Resident&points=6&type=&year=2008

If you look there are still 267 people ahead of you with 7 points
17 of them got bouns tags last year, and lets say there were 20
more that got non bonus tags (just a guess) that still leaves
230 people ahead of you for this year, and thats dosent figure
in the people with 8+ points that decide to jump in as well.
So230 minus 132 would still leave 98 ahead of you in 2010. So
you would have a shot in 2010, But there are 393 people in your
point group that you will be contending with.

So GOOD LUCK!!! You would be garenteed an archery tag though.

I think the odds will be easier on the books this year due to the changes and new hunts. He might get it.

What changes and new hunts, do you mean the managment hunts for the pauns nad henrys, that might pull a few people away but not many.

What changes are you talking about.

I would like to know because I have the same amount of points as him.

I SHOULD HAVE BENN MORE CLEAR IM TRYING FOR A MUZZY TAG.

SO HELP ME OUT HERE, WHEN YOU PUT IN THE POINTS ON THE DRAW ODDS PAGE YOU PUT THE # OF POINTS YOU HAD BEFOR THE DRAWING IN 08 RIGHT?

the pics previous good from coulpe years ago but heard went down hill had 2 buddies had tags last year went week before saesoned open & hunted all season on 4wheelers horses ect hunted hard crab clawed 24" 4 poits bigest could find very dissapointed these were local boys hunted area since 80s they said would not do agin + i work in book cliffs in oil gas feilds even this winter being out all hours day night all that is left after hunt big 3 pointers + have tree other freinds who had 9 points for muzzie books did not draw last year i have hunted books for 35 years plus go out take photos in winter it is worst i ever seen it even before they made it a draw . why waste points why.!!!

If you have 7 points this year, you need to put a 6 in the odds site, if you have 10 you put 9. They are the odds for last year, not this year, so you have to do a little figureing to find out how many people was taken out last year and you will get how many people is left over.

You will still be 1 year out for a muzz tag and maybe 2.

From what I have herd, the Muzz hunt is the hardest hunt to find a big buck out there, the deer start to head for lower country that time of year and get holed up in the ceaders where it is harder to find them. I've not spent much time out there that time of year, I am usually hunting else where but this is what I have herd.

You could get lucky and draw a non bounus tag. Good Luck.
