I am looking for info on hunting the navajo nations in arizona. please help with info on hunt areas

I've met Jason and Harry before and really good guys. Give them a call and they can answer more of your questions.
Jason appeared on one of the shows for, "Best of the West", on a archery elk hunt on the Navajo. I believe in unit 16.
He also has a website - http://www.jaystrophyhunts.com

>Ask Hunt Rez.

Yeah - he will tell you the Navjo res is full of dinks and ones he would "pass up all day long" because the only place in the world where big deer live is the Southern Ute res in CO.

Hunt Rez is not even Southern Ute he's Ute mountain ute. He just likes the soutern ute better. But they have monster on the ute mountain every year they kill at least one buck 240+ and many others.

Montezuma County & Dolores County = some of the best hunting in the world....ijlyk.

Width isnt everything, its the ONLY thing.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-19-09 AT 02:02PM (MST)[p]For deer, Unit 12 is a good area. Even unit 5. 2/3 are over hunted, but you can find a pretty nice buck if willing to put in the effort. walking/hiking is a must. Archery hunts are usually the best. I hunt there every year (Im from the area) and have had pretty good success. dont know much about the western side of the rez nor the soth side but for an archery deer hunt 12 is prem-o. I do hunt unit 2/3 and i really enjoy it.
Elk hunts are even more fun/challenging.

I hope i was helpful.
