Are there any Kaibab (12 east or west) tags that a NR can draw with 4-7 points, besides bow tags? Any rifle or muzzleloader tags? I hear all go to max pnt holders (NR).

What about the late rifle tags? Muzzleloader?

"ALL" late tags mid Nov - will take MAX B.P.The Early rifle tags in 12a-w & a-e can be drawn with Your amount of B.P.Had a N.R. hunter from Wi. draw the 12A-W early rifle tag last year with 5 B.P. and He "Tagged" the oldest buck taken on this ealy hunt at age 9 1/2 years old.Add some Luck and a little help from "Mother Nature" and these eaely deer hunts on the "Kaibab" can be very good to Great.Apply,as the draw is for now, this is the BEST deer hunt you can exspect to draw. SAME HERE......I HAD THE 12A WEST LATE KIABAB TAG LAST YEAR,& WE DID HAVE SOME SNOW & WEATHER. NOBODY I KNOW INCLUDING THE OUTFITTERS I KNEW IN THE AREA SAW A WALL HANGER. THE BIGGER DEER WHERE TAKEN IN THE EARLY SEASON, I KILLED THE BIGGEST BUCK I SAW DEAD OR ALIVE AMONG 50 PLUS HUNTERS.....MODEST BUCK OF 27INCHES WIDE 4x4....NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT. THE HUNT WAS AVGERAGE AT BEST, & NOT WORTHY OF 12 POINTS....I WOULD GO EARLY NEXT TIME....YD.

Thy give SOOOOOO many early tags that if you get an early snow, like last fall, the early hunters will massacre the big ones. But you can draw the early hunt with few or no points, and with some hard work and/or luck, the same bucks are there to be had. In fact, there are for sure going to be more avaiable in the early hunt.

I drew an early 12A west tag a couple years ago as a NR with o points, so there is hope.

I never did fill my tag. I passed on a few 24-26" bucks and never did see the monster you dream about on the Kaibab. I talked to a well known guide from the area who told me unless we get an early snow dont wait for the "big" one. We had a great time though. I'd love to hunt there again.
