LAST EDITED ON Mar-02-09 AT 08:12AM (MST)[p]I have been buying deer prerence points in Colorado for the last couple of years and I want to hunt this year. Obviously, I won't be able to draw a late season premium tag but I want to hunt now. I am hoping to draw in an area that holds some good deer (160+) with a chance at something very good (180) if I work my tail off. What are you thoughts on the following with regard to Unit 70 third rifle season:
1. Deer numbers,
2. Quality,
3. Hunting pressure,
4. Public access, and
5. Weather and terrain.
I am also wondering whether it would be worth buying an over the counter elk and/or bear tag. I would greatly appreciate any help that you can provide and I am willing to swap information on Utah.
