Gross score

What spread measurement would you use on a mule deer for score when gross scoring. Is it the greatest inside spread or do you still use the spread credit which has to be no more than the shortest main beam?

You use the widest point of the inside spread of the mainbeams OR if the inside spread is wider than the length of the LONGER main beam you use the length of the LONGER main beam. (not the shorter one)

The inside spread should not change whether you are figureing the gross or net score.
