I was enjoying your pics under the post regarding favorite outdoor pics and couldn't help thinking that one of the pics with the boy holding the salmon looked like the Feather River in Nor Cal. Was it? Where are you from?

Yes, that's the Feather in better days.
Countless tens of thousands of beautiful salmon passed through that spot over the years.
All that is a didtant memory with the crash of the salmon population.
Bad water managementpolicies, overzealous commercial fishing and possible conditions at sea seem to have destroyed what was once a yearly celebration.
God I miss those days.

I grew up in Gridley. When I saw the picture I thought it had to be the Feather. Great pictures! It looks like you are giving your son a great foundation and lots of memories.
