Here is a pedestal that I just finished up. The deer were done by Dirk Bawden at bigstuff taxidermy, I think he does a phenomenal job, and the pedestal is one that I built. I am working on another pedestal right now that has 3 elk horns holding the top as well as a light that is pointed up and one that points down to highlight the deer and possibly a bird mount between the elk horns. I do have a nice 195 muzzle loader buck I could put on it but would like to hear what some of you think about the habitat and pedestal good or bad. Either way I think it turned out great but it is nice to show your work and your success?s.

It looks awsome buddy, you did good work with the habitat and the Mounts look sweet as well.

Awsome Mount.

Yeah Looks Real Nice... However I Think I Would Rather The Elk Antlers Be We An Elk but It really Does Look Great and I Think You Have Got Something There... NICE WORK MAN!

Impressive work! I like what you've done with those. I may have to do something on that line myself. I have 2 NM muleys that I need to mount. I hope to get some time to do some of my own stuff since I'm kinda retired from doing commercial work....at least that's what I'm telling myself.

That looks great man. I think that you have got some great talent and great Ideas there. I heard rummers that you are starting your own Taxidermy place, and that your taxi work looks just as good as your Pedestals. Is that true? If so I got a couple of heads that I need mounted, I think you would do them great justice.

Keep up the good work man.

I purchased a plant life preservative from McKenzie(PLPCQ Clear). It has taken some trial and error the smaller sage plants I keep them in the preservative for 4 to 5 days and the bigger ones a week or more. Some seem to keep better than others but I like they way they look and I could not find any online.

And Jeff, Yes I am starting my own business and would like to do custom pedestals and mounts. I know I have to put in my time to get my mounts to look like some of the other mounts I have seen on this site but I am a perfectionist and will get there someday (soon I hope) PM me and we can talk about your mounts.

Thanks for all of the comments.

Good news to hear Travis, I will be giving you a call and getting you my head so that you can get started on one for me. I am really empressed on what you have done so far from the Pics that I have see of some of your work.

Just curious why you have Dirk's deer on your pedestal, if you too are a taxidermist? Do you build bases wholesale or something?

Looks really nice, but I think the deer with both ears forward isn't level. Deer do tip their heads, but I don't think that is the case, it looks like it was attached crooked to the ped.

Sorry the deer on the pedestal our my deer. I have been doing mounts for just over a year and these deer have been at Dirks for two years, and since I had already paid to have them done I let him do it. I will be doing all my mounts from now as well as pedestals.
