I am sure this is posted up from time to time, but I couldn't seem to find it in the archives.
What would you rank as Utah's top 5 Mule Deer units:

for a shot at a quality buck my list is

henry mountais
color country cwmu
ensign cwmu
wasatch front extended "what"
bookcliffs
sanjuan
the rest don't matter imho

Archery is a year round commitment!!

That's a pretty good list right there - though there might be a couple more spots worth trying for if you have access to private land.

UTROY
Proverbs 21:19 (why I hunt!)

Would you really put Book Cliffs above San Juan?

La Sal/Dolores Triangle (late) hunt doesn't even make the list?

No Cache/Crawfords?

Shows how much I know about the best units.

Grizzly

Henries
Pauns
Dolores
Book Cliffs
Oak Creek
San Juan
Vernon
Crawford
Diamond

Those would be my choices in priority.

There's several CWMU's scattered all across the state that I'd rank towards the top.

I like prism list +1
But if you can't draw a limited deer tag you have to choose from the only 5 regions you can hunt. thats if you can drew a gen tag. ya good luck

I guess it depends what you're looking for. Trophy quality I'm assuming. I would definitely put Henries at the top, it's possibly the best deer hunt in the nation IMO. Then as follows:

Pauns
There are a few CMWU's that I think would fit right in here. But are really hard to draw.
Vernon
Books
LaSal Delores Triangle can be a really good hunt.
San Juan -- I think this area will be back to one of the top units in the state within a few years, seems like it is on the ups.
Wasatch Front (if you're willing to hike like crazy)
Most of the LE areas are pretty similar I think. Probably Diamond Mtn next.
Crawford mtns. if the weather treats you right.

For general units, south, southeast, central in that order. (Southeast and South are pretty similar IMO).

thanks for the input guys. I always think it is interesting to see different views of where people think the quality is. Here is my thoughts.

1. Henrys (obviously)
2. Paunsagaunt (seems to be on a decline, but I am sure there is still some monsters to be had.)
3. Book Cliffs (I know there are a ton of tags for out there, but there always seem to be a few jaw droppers come off there.)
4. Delores triangle. (Weather can jump this unit in ranking.)
5. Wasatch. (If you are willing to work, it can really pay off.)

I am sure there are some really good CMWU units that fit in there, I just don't know much about those units..

1. Henry Mtn (possibly best public hunt in the world)
2. Paunsagaunt (late hunt)
3. Delores Triangle (late hunt)
4. Crawford Mtns (You'd be amazed what you can see from a helicopter)
5. Book Cliffs/San Juan (both are good units, but not managed for trophy deer.

Grizzly

I'm sure some top CWMU's belong in there, but honestly, I'm not very familiar with them.

Prism, Hey keep Oak Creek out of the list, no deer there just Elk! J/K
Henrys
OakCreek
Deloris Triangle
Pauns
Vernon/Book Cliffs
Book Cliffs a close tie for 5th, just for the sheer amount of buck you see per day.

Sorry, just elk and turkeys on Mini Dutton.

There's a few B&C ticks too, just ask cowslayer. :)
