Wyoming draw? What am I missing?

I have a question for someone that knows how the Wyoming draw system works. We put in as a party for region R general deer with one person having a pref. point, But we didn't get drawn. According to the draw statistics,it looks like 48 tags went to those who had less than 1 point. So shouldn't we have been drawn or what am I missing as to how the draw system works?

If you apply as a party you and you don't all have points you get the same number of points that the lowest has... if you have zero and you five bubbies have 3 pts, you all go into the draw as having zero pts!

Then I'm confused. Why are the odds sheets listed as:

2
<2...

There are tags given to people with points not listed as whole numbers. The "<" sign would not be needed.

I thought that if one guy in your party of 4 had 1 point then you guys would average the points. So each would have .25 points. That would mean you would draw tags before the people with 0 points but anyone with .26 points or higher would get the tags before you. Hence why they do the 3> 2> stuff.

That's the way I see it.

Thats the way I thought it worked also. I've seen the draw odds posted before that had decimal amounts .25 .33 etc. for party draws.

Thats the way it is if you have .25 points you will get the draw before anyone with .20 points. Did you look and see maybe the cutoff was .5 points.

Wyoming definitely averages points, the cutoff must have been higher than .25.

According to their website. 654 tags,One drew with 3 pts. 653 6 drew with <3 pts. 647, 2 pts. 2 drew. 640, <2 pts. 2 drew. 638,1 pt. 61 drew. 577, <1 pt. 48 drew. 529 tags left for 0 pts. I think I should have drawn with the group of 48?

Might be a chance that there was an error somewhere on the application and it got kicked out?????

Don't forget about the random draw. There were 217 tags and 296 applicants trying for those tags. Looks like either they made a mistake or you made a mistake. I would pull up all of your partners' bonus point stats and see if someone really had a point. Hope you can get to the bottom of it.

Your group could just have the worst luck ever. Not getting drawn in the point draw with everyone else with 2 points and then again not getting drawn when the normal draw took place.

Take out more than you brought in!
