Found this dead head in 2005 while deer hunting looked like a lion kill that winter.... nothing like anything i have ever seen before

I saw a show years ago where they were showing a set of horns similar to this. They said it was caused by the animal being trapped in a fire or getting too close to a wildfire and the heat from the fire causing the ends of the horns to twist up like that.
 
One of my buddies found a set of sheds that were twisted up at the ends. We took them to the biologist and he said that they had a bacteria in the antler and that they will never get rid of it and it makes the horns twist. The DOW took samples from the horns to test.
