The last couple weeks I have been mowing sage for habitat improvement. I have come across a few fawns most jump and run. Yesterday I jumped a doe that was abviously in labor. So I gave her some space and continued mowing. I watcher her come back to the spot where I had first jumped her and she layed down. She was up and down over the next hour until finally I could see a little fawn crawling around her. About and hour later she left the area and bedded in some aspens. So I took the opprotunity to take a few pictures of the lil bugger. I left her fawning area unmowed. It is amazing that any of these lil fawns survive. They are so small and helpless at there early stages of life.

Thanks for posting!! They are sometimes rather difficult to capture on pics, too. I had a neat thing happen to me while staying at my son's house in Spring Creek, NV over the 4th. I was chasing around a doe and a small buck, trying to capture them on video. I was able to get pics of the doe as she stayed around, while the buck ran off. The house right next door has not been lived in for awhile, and there was very tall grass. I was amazed when, as I cut right through the yard, I jumped out two of the tinest deer I've ever seen! I was so startled, that I only had seconds to react, and wasn't able to get them on video. I hiked around in chest-high sagebrush in the immediate vicinity for several days, hoping to get what you posted...so i appreciate the timing of your posting!

4000fps,
Generally our fawns start coming about June 15 and we will get them into mid July. Some earlier and some later. Think how long the rut generally runs and you can get fawns spread out over more than a month or so. I saw a set of twins the other day that was also neat. The grass was to tall i couldn't get a good enough picture.
