Man with a name like yollyhunter I have to help you out! Check this out Ive been around that country a few times and I have to say the south Warner wilderness is where I would bow hunt. Its real late right now and Im getting up early to go hike the John Muir wilderness and scout some high country so I will P.M when I get home this weekend. BH1

thanks alot man look forward to hearing what you have to say. i have heard some good things about eagle peak what do you know about that? is it possible to do day hikes in and out of that area?

So do you hunt the yollabolla wilderness? I've hunted the south warners a few times. Can't give you any current info but if you'd like, pm me and I can give you my ph.# and give you some info. Just let me know I have a message on this forum. Dean

Hey Yolly, I use to spend some time up in the Warners looking at and hunting some good bucks. By far my best area was in the south wilderness.Right up on top of Eagle peak. Hike in from Patterson about three miles and glass the south side of the peak. Use to be a buck near the the top we called Bullwinkle he was so heavy and palmed, plus other solid P&Y contenders. My buddies still hunt A6 when they can draw, but due to bad knees they hunt the roads north of Cedar pass and do well on smaller deer. Remember to take your grouse arrows and some trout gear for those mountain brookies. Good luck!! BH1
