Since that's the theme of the past couple weeks...here's a buck from 2008.

I know some of you guys are gonna get close...I've got the gross score from the day after he hit the ground so let's see what you boys have got for a bit before I reveal...

I say 158 4/8 ".

Congrads on your buck from last year, was it a bow hunt?

I'm completely new to scoring Muleys (I'm not too bad on whitetails), so I try to pay attention as much as possible.

My reasoning/guessing was as follows.
left:
22, 1, 12, 6, 9, 5.5, 5, 4.5, 4 = 69

right:
22, 0, 12, 8, 8, 5.5, 5, 4.5, 4 = 69

Inside spread = 24

Gross Score = 162

I did not think you could give a spread credit any more than longest main beam. Or am I mistaken?

No, your not mistaken. if his main beams are 22" & his inside spread is 24" than the credit would be 22". That bucks inside spread probably won't hit 24" anyway.

you dont have mass measurements in between one of eyeguards cuz it isn't there. he's probably about 21 inches inside but his main beams are probably only 18 inches so i'm gonna go with 153 3/8.........
Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

Yeah, I spaced that rule so I would be 160 (never had to worry about that with a whitetail, at least none I killed. Maybe I'm applying whitetail rules, but I think you get four mass measurements regardless if the point is there or not. Determining where to take them is a rule I'm not familiar with on muleys.

I've been way low on most of my guessing because I could not get relative size of whitetails out of my mind, so maybe I'm over compensating now. What is standard ear length on a muley?

One thing I can be sure of, I'd shoot first on this buck then I'd have it in my hands to verify score. LOL
