Unicorn buck

His nose looks swollen. I wonder if it's an antler tip stuck in there from another deer?

Hey Larry, I wonder if this is the same buck? I took this picture in January 2004 in LB on DPC road. What do you think? It sure looks like it could be the same buck doesn't it.

Shawn, yes, I think its the same buck. Great picture. It looks like he scraped his nose bone and then grew this point.

I have seen a couple bucks in LB with that trait. And on other winter ranges it seems more common.

Yelum,
Bearcat found a shedded buck dead that had that growth in the same spot near LB two springs ago. I have pictures of it somewhere.

Hey Larry long time no talk!!

Yep the buck is dead. I found his skull (no horns) two years ago. At the time he did not have the spike but was exactly like the other picture. I also think I have one side of him.

He was way wierd and it was an actual horn that came out of his head and was not attached to the pedical.

Hey, thats cool. After watching him, I was pretty sure it was a seperate antler/bone. I didn't think he would ever shed it. Too bad he already shed his antlers. Cool find anyway.

Hows things on your end?

Yelum

Man things have been crazy with the new job and of course we have gotten out riding ATVs/camping/fishing 8 out of 11 weekends so I can not complain much.

How are things with the family--how are you feeling?

How did the buck mount turn out?

We did not draw anything so I guess the Heneries will have to wait till next year (got 14 pt now so here is hoping).

We just have some general deer and general elk tags. I guess after last year I should not complain.

Anyway drop me a line sometime.
