Made it in to the area we've been scouting the past couple weeks. Had enough time to glass em up in the little jungle pocket they've been in on previous occasions.

Beautiful friday evening, but oh what 8 hours can do! Rain started at 4:30 in the morning and was at its worst at first light. Not the way we'd hoped to get things going.

We knew where they were, put together a plan, played the wind. like a couple snipers we watched and waited from 140 yards out. For an hour we waited for the prime opprotunity to close in for the shot. A quick moving fog front made for a perfect opprotunity to close in undetected...too good. Shane ended up close, 20yards close. Like any mature buck, the big one picked him off. The four bucks erupted. Not the big one but a good one stopped at what he thought was 40yards. No time to rangefind, the arrow sailed just over his back, unscathed.

The unrelenting rain never stopped and the cloud cover socked in for good. We bailed off the mountain for another time. Hopefully they will return to their sanctuary. Time will tell. Great to get out this weekend!

Ya tell me about it, I'm still drying out! We're going to give them a few days, hope they didnt skip the county.
