Can someone tell me the difference between the Nikon 550 ProStaff and the Nikon 550 Riflehunter (besides price)? I've tried to do some research but I'm coming up empty. Also, for those of you who own one, how do you like it? Would you recommend it?

Thanks

I'm not sure, but I looked up the Prostaff on a site real quick and I didn't see any mention of angle compensation.

I have the Riflehunter and it is sweet, well, before it stopped working, but Nikon is fixing it, but it has the angle compensation that you can turn on and off. Which out west here is nice.

That's my guess.

Another thing, I've had mine work and range out to almost 800 yards. So it goes quite a ways if the conditions are right.

Maybe I need to send mine in, I can't get a reading on it past 200 yds. I do have the angle compensation on it.

Mine has been great, then out of the blue the reading starting skipping back and forth by a yard or two, then the next day, wouldn't get a reading at all. Just the three dashes. Whatever. Hopefully I get it back soon, because I'm a little hesitant to take any shots out past 40 yards or so til I get it back because judging distance gets deceptive. That's if I can get a chance to get close enough to any of the bucks I want anyway.

I just bought the 550 Riflehunter yesterday and it has the angle compensator where as the Prostaff does not. I hunt whitetails out of treestands where I live and usually come out west every 2 years so hopefully I get good use out of it.
