Layed there for me for about 15 minutes. He saw me. i was able to get 25 yards from him, widest buck i ever seen personally.....wow!
Kinda weak tho when he turned his head, i know.

That looks like a Kaibab buck!?!?!? I used to hunt there, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 34" outside with 30" inside. Im no expert but definetly a shooter in my book. thanx for sharing!!!

nice buck! im going to say he's at least 5-6 inches past each ear 10-12+22=32-34 inches wide! id have to see that buck with my own eyes, but I might hang my kiabab tag on that one!?

LAST EDITED ON Aug-24-09 AT 09:01PM (MST)[p]If that deer is 34" wide then he's got cheaters that I can't see. 29-30" great buck nonetheless...let him hve it and measure him after!

Thanks for all the input fellas. I'll let you know once i tag him ok? LOL!
This guy isnt a Kaibab buck, Hes a Navajo ReZ Buck. Don't put your tag on him 'lessn you wanna trouble from them tribal Fish & Game fellas. Hee hee. Best of luck to you all!

9 days and a wake up 'til opening day!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-24-09 AT 10:54PM (MST)[p]That buck will hit the 30" mark, maybe a little over.

Better let him grow, he is a young one.

I think he's still a pretty young buck, reason for the short ears. Like that he has eye guards. The bucks i taken in the area dont have eye guards.

Even if his ears are only 5" long (they're probably 6") he'd be 30" if you added 10" to a 20" earspread. I think he's better than 30".

He hit 30" on the dot. He was kinda young, 3 1/2 year old but he was too cool not to tag. My buddies from NM named him "Wide Load" back in August. They have a ton of trail cam pics and about an hour of video of him. He gave us the run a round for a few days and the day after he lost his velvet I found him in a little canyon with a doe and a P&Y 4x4. I shot him on Sunday September 13th at 8:30 AM, 54 yards. I would say about 1/2 mile from where these live photos were taken.

Cool set of before and after pic's. I would not have said 30" in the before photo's. To me he looked more like 28" or so. Then, after looking at both sets of pic's, looks like he added to his fronts some while still in velvet.

Congrats on breaking the 30" mark. Width is certainly not the end all in muley racks but it's been a long standing benchmark that speaks for itself. Lots of hunters out there trying to hit or better that number but not very many guys do!

He put a lot on in the last two weeks of August, as did several other bucks we were wathcing in that area. Yea he would have been a toad in a year or two... but hey, too late now he's in the Freezer!!!

DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was one awesome buck! I was there opening weekend and i had him bedded. He was with a smaller forky and I got within 40 yards but there was too many banches for me to take a shot. I tried to manoeuvre around above him but that wind up there was swirling like crazy and that small forky got my wind and blew outta there. Dang! Nice buck tho, congrats.
I ended up hunting the "Burn area", way too many hunters there but had a great shot at a 4x4 that i missed, i know, not so great but it was an awesome hunt. I just ended up with tag soup this year, ugh! well theres next year right? Congrats again.

Yes. The pictures i took of him were back in late July. While he was in velvet.
