Not monsters but they get me fired up just the same! This is my first video so let me know what you think!

Thanks man!

Just a Sony digital 40x optical (Zeiss lens) No tapes, easy as pie to upload and edit. It's grainy on youtube.com because I lowered the resolution to upload it quicker. Great picture.

That deer pulled a "Matrix" move on that shot! The shot was waaaay left anyway but he jumped the string and somehow avoided the KABOSH! He actually hits his knee on the arrow shaft as he turns to run.

Great video but is this level of conversation normal? When I'm this close to deer I'm even concerned about my breathing and for me whispering is out of the question. Just me I guess.

Kaibab--

they were up and coming in by 2:30 some days!?!? These bucks were later, 4:30 or so.

myj--

I'm 6" from the mic on the camera in the blind. You can't hear my buddy and he is 2 ft to my left. It just picks up my whispering in the ambiente sound.

Cant beat that tank when you have elk, deer, and antelope all coming in .
really needed 3 tags! LOL
Great video.

It is fun when they're all coming in. I feel sorry for the animals in AZ--it has been so hot, most of the tanks are completely dry and when you're sitting the only one within 5 miles, it'll produce!

I just hope a good deer comes in.

I walked up on a doe bedded at the water's edge at a tank at 11:30 in the morning a couple weeks ago while scouting. Your area looks similar to where I'll be but I have 4+ tanks w/water in the same general area - left a trail cam on one of em. I'll be sitting 50 - 200 yards off water morning/evening and still hunting in between during the day.

The berms on the tanks are pretty high like in your video. I was thinking of hanging tight a little farther off the hole and then using the berm as cover for a quick sneak once their drinking to minimize scent/swirling winds. A lot of the tanks are fairly open all around but I have one that has pretty tight cover that I would feel ok sitting where I'd have a shot anywhere on the tank - that's the one with the cam.

Was sitting on water your primary tactic?

Yeah because we have a Double-Bull blind and it has worked great in the past. The problem I found is that I think a lot of times deer get ambushed at water by predators, so they're naturally inclined to be super-cautious when approaching. Even when they made it all the way in, two or three quick sips and the bounced.

You have a good point about setting up off the water a bit. I think I will put a treestand on their trail about 200 yds above the tank. They spent a lot of time meandering around on the knob above the tank checking things out before they commited. If I would've had a stand I could've smoked EVERY critter that came in that night!
