I had headed out of town and had made it into camp late. the night before Opening Morning. By the time I got settled in it was around 8:00 o clock p.m. I was beat from a long week of work. my plan was to get up at the crack of dawn but I ended up getting up at the crack of 9 ish a.m. Haha. it took me about an hour to get to the spot where I had seen 3 Big Boy Bucks on the Bow Hunt a few weeks before. I had just sit down and got my blind up and about ten minutes past. I spotted a little 2 point that I had to let pass for a little heard management. A few minutes later I hear crashing in the trees I look towards the sound and I see deer jumping over the little gully down the hill. They were Running. Doe, Doe, Doe, Buck. This one was one of the big bucks I seen on the bow. So I Aimed and Fired. He didn't take another step. Shot him at 127 yards with Open Iron Sights. He Was Just out of his Prime on the Down Hill. He was a 2X3 20 inch Wide x 20" tall on the Right and 18" on the left side. Not a Monster but he is my Monster haha I was Back at Camp by lunch time.

Good going on knockin' down a buck with your muzzy. I'll bet he was a good eating buck too. He's definatly not just out of his prime and on the downhill, (no question, he's a two year old), but a great buck and I bet you had a lot of fun too.
Good on ya.

I don't know, he was pretty banged up for a 2 year old then. had the character of an old man warn teeth, Wrinkles around the ears, Battle Scars. One scar was pretty cool he had a slit down the middle of one of his ears from fighting in previous years. But he was pretty good eatin though Had his winter fat on already. He deffinately was going to stay right where he was. high up in the pines that's for sure And it was a blast I had a great time.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-12-09 AT 10:07PM (MST)[p]I was just looking at the pedicles. Pedicles never regress in size.
Anyway, I don't mean to discount your buck. Congrats.
