LAST EDITED ON Sep-16-09 AT 04:37PM (MST)[p]I took a great 25" wide, 175 net green 180 gross typical in the Co. High country above 12k ft. a few days ago... He is a great buck and everything I could have ever expected form a tough DIY hunt, he is my best archery buck to date...

Here is a picture of him bedded

The shot was 29 yards bedded downhill and it's all captured on video! The hunt took nine days to complete and was one that I will never forget! Enjoy!

That's a great deer. That would be a dream hunt for me... to score big in the high country. Congrats.

Awesome field pics dude...seriously best I've seen in a long time!! Congrats on your big buck!! I didn't think Mathews bows could kill bucks that big...jk ;-)

sweet pics and great buck....you should give your video to founder for the hunt of the week...its gotta be as cool or cooler than the video of deer down by willard bay

Awesome buck Marlon!

I was just over the ridge when you shot it...I was sneaking up on it, just about to shoot it, when bam! you nailed him. ;)

That's a beautiful deer and one you will have trouble topping. I'm sure you'll have fun trying though. See you on the front!

You're right! that is a pretty small deer for a mathews!

Congrats on a great buck. I have seen you in a few magazines and your always holding some nice antlers. Once again job well done.

I agree with what has been said about the super field photos!
CONGRATS!

"Yeah, I'll shoot him"

thats a great buck!!! I love hunting that high stuff in Colorado too and can appreciate your hard work in sticking with it and making it all work. There's very few outdoor experiences that compare with spotting and stalking a trophy muley with a bow in high elevation terrain above timberline. Congrats to you on an awesome buck! Great pics too. Thanks for sharing

Great buck and even better pics! Nothing like a bit of overcast to bring out the colors nicely :)

Congrats Marlon!!!

Cheers,
Pete

Great wild buck, and wonderfully dangerous country. No fences there. Great job, Steve

LAST EDITED ON Sep-18-09 AT 10:11AM (MST)[p]You boy's really know how to make a guy feel good about a hard earned animal!!! Thanks for the comments. I catch myself reliving the moments over and ever =) It was truly an adventure I'll never forget and hopefully I will be lucky enough to do again next year. As far as the footage is concerned... That will be in our Gray Light Productions season II DVD out this spring. The kill shot is over the shoulder and my camera guy was at 32 yards!!! One of the most exciting shot's I've ever seen spot n stalk! Realistically, I can't believe we didn't get winded as that was one of our greatest challenges aside from the extreme terrain for every one of the 9 days of the hunt!

Awesome! I just got back from my muzz hunt in CO.. Nothing like big mulies up close! But I'll save that for my post after getting the film (yes) developed.

I'd make that the editors choice for sure. I can see it now... Eastmans or Trophy Magazine in faded yellow coloring.

You photo was set up perfect. I loved your time to take several that showcased your background. You were up there. It can't be denied. Loved the colors. Pete (C3) said it best... The overcast treated you right.

Love the high country flowers and your color schemes... Wow. Impressed. Great job.

Thanks for sharing. Your kept the high country dream hunt alive and kicking this year for me.

I too loved your pictures and that's a great buck. The only thing that would make it better is if your wife was in them. Of course we might not notice the deer then,

"My sickle has a boattail"
"hidden soles leave .308 holes"

Sweet buck! I have hunted at that elevation before and know you earned every shred of velvet on that trophy. Congrats!

Congrats on an awesome buck....Gotta love the high country..
