That's alot of horn for sure, where in NM was he taken.
Is it a Rez buck or somewhere else.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

What a tank , congrats to the hunter...You guys down south are so lucky to have a season that allows you the chance to harvest big muley's in velvet...very jealous

All I got was the score and the hunters name, Gisi. I did see another post of this buck, it just has another hunter holding it.

Decent? Not sure what your definiton of decent is, but I'd say that buck is EXTRAORDINARY, MAGNIFICANT, AWESOME!! 40+ Spread, 9 per side. Beautiful animal, I believe he was taken around the Wheeler Peak area, more towards the Taos ski area backside is what I understood. That would make it either unit 53 or 49. Neither of these units are known for good muleys much less one of such "HORNAGE"

I heard this buck was taken in unit 53 in TSV great buck, just one of those hard to find bucks that can live in just about any unit just have to find him. nmbighorn

the buck was taken on wheeler peak, the highest point in new mexico. I know the guy that found the deer. He is sitting to the right of the hunter in the glasses. he is from the area and said in his whole life he has never seen a deer like that in the area and all the bucks he was running with are no where close to him. just a freak of nature. they hunted him last year but couldnt get it done and found him again this year. his main beams were longer last year but when the deer feeds they rub on the ground and in the avalanche shoots up there it broomed inches off the main beam. I was running some bears with him this week and he said the official score was 270

All I can say is "HOLY CRAP" he is a toad.

There's room for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potato's and gravy.

BIGBULL48 told me to come look at this thread. Much congrats on a monster deer. I think I glassed that deer up two years ago from on top of Wheeler itself when BIGBULL48 and I hiked a scout troop up there. BIGBULL48 even put in for 53 as his first choice this year with the hope of going after that specific deer, but he didn't draw the tag. But it's hard for me to be able to say for certain because we were watching him from a long ways off. I thought it was an elk when I first picked him out of the brush at the bottom of the chutes. The mass and length look about right, but if it is the same deer, he wasn't carrying quite that much trash, then. Very well done.

That deer is fat, still got a chaw of tender grass shoots in it's mouth. Pretty good looking rack too if you're into WIDE, HEAVY, and TRASHY. DAMN!!
