Whitetails??

LAST EDITED ON Oct-19-09 AT 01:58PM (MST)[p]There has been a little talk about all the whitetails being seen in Utah. So, when will the first Whitey be shot and tagged in Utah? Maybe it has already happened? Can anyone enlighten us?? Is is legal? Can you shoot if you seen one? For most Utahns, deer antlers are deer antlers. Assumably Mule deer antlers. What could happen if someone shot a buck and only seen it was a whitetail once they walked up on the buck??

LAST EDITED ON Oct-19-09 AT 02:02PM (MST)[p]DWR says that 2 whitetails on average are reported harvested per year in utah. Tag is for "deer", so it's all good.

There have been several whitetails shot in Northern Utah the last few years. They are legal to shoot since the Utah deer tag says 'buck' and not 'mule deer buck'.
