I've had my boy out hunting this year for his 1st deer. He had area 6 here in Nv. and we have seen and taken some really great bucks from here this year so I was making him hold out for something big. Well sat. morning we found a 26" 4x3 really trying to chase off a huge younger buck with a 30" main frame plus a 4" cheeter! Troy wanted the wider buck so we watched him bed and made our stock. At 204 yards we waited for him to get up. Well my friend on the next ridge tried to stand him up for us but he blew out as soon as he hit his hoofs. I told Troy to wait till he stopped and when he did it was 350 Yards pointing away. BOOM.... and a clean miss....oh well. He was bummed out but I tried to make him feel better.

we walked all day and looked at alot of bucks trying to find the big 3x4. we found this buck at 4pm and went for him. We got to 200yards around 5:30 pm but got busted. He was running and I told him to wait.Once he stopped Troy shot him.He ran a bit further and stopped again. After a miss he whacked him. He went over a ridge and we trailed him till 7pm in the dark but decided to let it go till morning. At sun light we were back in there and found him right where we had left the trail the night before.

Troy is happy to get the 1st out of the way. He is 23 1/2" wide.I told him I killed ALOT of forkies before I got one this big!!
I want to thank my friends Dave and Nathan for all their hard work and help on this hunt.... and this whole season. Now off to Ely for an elk...

Thanks, I forgot to mention, in one shot he hit him in the jaw thats why his mouth is tied shut with twine.

Congrats on the first buck. I think you could add up the first 9 bucks I killed and combined they wouldn't be that big. Nice job. Did you say that was in 065?

That is an Awesome buck! First buck or 50th buck, That is a buck to be proud of.
Congrats to you on taking your son out hunting! They will be the best memories he will ever have!

Congratulations to the young man.......that's a beautiful buck. Kudos dad for introducing him to the outdoors.
