LAST EDITED ON Oct-30-09 AT 00:02AM (MST)[p]Hey. I am just wondering what you guys think about this abnormal point. I know it is not going to make more than an inch and a half difference, but I am curious what you think. I know there are some certified scorers on this site, so hopefully I can get some help.

So, do you think the measurement is 9" or 7.5", or something else? My bother shot a buck that we rough scored in the low 160s, so it looks like it is going to come down to the inch for the Family Big Buck Contest and bragging rights.
Thanks for your help.

LOL...whats it matter?

From that last two pictures I would say that the other point is going to be scored as the G4.

Take out more than you brought in!

>Like I said, it's only 1.5", but it is the difference between 163" and 165". My family has a buck contest each year and my brother shot one that we rough scored in the low 160's. So it could mean bragging rights for the year and a picture on the plaque for life. Other than that, it doesn't matter. Not to mention for future references.

From the pic's and what i make of them, i'd say your G-4 is going to be 9". I'm not an official scorer though. Nice buck!!

I would score it as the outside point is the G4. So it would be 9". Is your family scoring by net? If it is, it shouldn't be. Gross all the way, nets are for fish. :)

Yeah, we go by gross. I have debated which tine is the G4 and we have decided it is the inside tine. I guess it looks more so if you see it in person. If I am correct, then what do you guys think the abnormal tine scores?

It is always a bit risky to make "official" statements from just a picture, but here goes...

B+C rules allow you to use the longest point of this pair as the typical. The other point is clearly non-typical.
