Here's a quick shot of this weeks Colorado Muley action.
That's me on the left, lowcountryelk, stinkystomper and qtip.
We did pretty darn good for a three day muley "slam" considering we had a moon as bright as the sun everynight!!

Good hunt all! When did you hunt? September?:) The weather looks like September. Full moon and warm weather, that's a very good hunt! Congrats everyone! Great buck lowcountryelk!

Is it really hunting when you just drive around farm roads and shoot the biggest ones? Cheaters! Haha jk guys. Look at all the smiles! Sounds like it was a blast! Just remember slam next year is Ms. Tabby's turn! Hehe. lowcountry that smile says it all!

Success is failure that tried one more time
 
Wrong! lowcountry switched to a rifle and therefore lost by forfieture. If I woulda known a buck like underdorks was gonna pop up I wouldn't have burned my tag 5 seconds into the first day of the hunt lol. I just have a hard time passing up 30 inch deer. Well, he was actually 29 1/8", followed by my wifes 26 incher, and slammy's 24 incher. Last but not least was underdorks crappy little 31 incher. BTW: that was outside spread. Now, if anyone gives me crap I WILL post a picture of my buck that will probably send this thread straight to a cage fighting round so please keep it clean guys lol!

Thanks for the invite!!! I didn't even know you were going. I guess I know where I stand! And what the hell is with the tennis shoes again??? At least make it look like you had to work for them a little. Good to see Bessy out and about. Now that looks like a fun deer camp. If you ever do invite me, make sure you give me enough time to go buy a pair of Nike tennis shoes. Hell, I would even buy a pair of those low cut socks with the little balls on the back for a hunt like that one! Nice job guys.

Congrats on some nice deer!

Reminds me of a hunting vid I have. The host dude shows up to the camp decked out in camo, (colorado farm country), and asks the "guide", "well, how are we planning to hunt today?". The "guide", dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, says, "well, we're going to get in the truck, drive around a while until we see a nice one, then get out and shoot it." Host dude agrees, and they are off.

The vid even shows some awesome action shots of the guys bailing out of the truck, setting up shooting sticks, and blasting a nice colorado muley.
 
Nice racks! I would take any of them, even on opening day. Well done to all of you.

As you can see.........I had a good time. Great hunt with a bunch of really fun hunting buds and buddettes. Just wish Stinky wouldn't have kept kicking my buck everytime he walked past it. And yes....we broke even this year. My bet is on QTPie next year.......

Stink - couple of questions? Did you intentionally shoot your deer in the guts? Please, no! Also - did you eat all the food in camp so your buddy LCE could not have any?

Slammy sure seems like good peoples and I like LCE's post. If those guys voluntarily hunt with you, maybe you are not as big of an ahole as I thought. :)

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..... guts? Well, lets just say that "wherever" I shot my deer dropped him dead in his tracks where he stood. He didn't even move one step. Let me also add that I didn't waste one bit of meat where I shot my deer. Bobcatbess, slammy, and qtpie can attest to my deer dropping dead where he stood. Trust me, I know my bullet, and a full on hollow point with 6000 ft/lbs of energy behind it is not best utilized in hard spots. I'm very "experienced" with these bullets and know where to shoot them lol.
 
Those are some great bucks and it's nice to see the Cat in some of those pics as well.


But, (you knew there'd be a but) who here isn't tired of seeing QTIP wearing that same old pink tank top. Jeez stinky, I think you could afford to buy the girl some new clothes. Maybe we should take up a collection and buy QTIP a camo halter top or tank top or something. Nothing worse than having everyone look at you and think "same outfit she wore last year".

Come on stink, pony up some cash and we'll go shoping.
 
Good point NVBH. That outfit is a little tired. Stink - you were thinking about upgrading the rack and you bought that dutton tag. Surely you can pass along some cash to NVBH and let him take your lady out shopping?
 
The bull is Stinky's Dutton bull, we picked it up so that Slammy could drop it off at Paul's for the taxidermy work.

Alright, so it is apparent now, that i did not win the big buck contest. But for my second deer ever, i am VERY happy! I had a blast, made new friends, and enjoyed the company of old friends as well. OH, and dont forget i had 4 days away (and time alone with the hubby) from our herd of small children. It was a much needed break, and i got to kill something! What more could i ask for?! ALSO, please note that i am the ONLY one who has shot that gun and does NOT have a scar to show for it. :)



NVBH and all those concerned with my wardrobe: I will have you all know that is my lucky pink tank top and it is not going ANYWHERE....unless one of you have a lucky bikini and mini skirt, you people can keep wishin....I already told you that slammy!


Oh, and i want proof its lucky. Gonna have to see a pic of one of you guys wearing it with a NICE BIG, DEAD something...ie, deer, elk, rabbit....you get the point.

OK, im pretty sure qtpie would never go for that but I did find and order that other out fit:) so maybe with some persuation from slammy and steve-o we can manage to get a couple of snapshots next year during deer season.
