LAST EDITED ON Nov-15-09 AT 01:10PM (MST)[p]This year was the first time in years my dad, brother and I were all able to make the rifle season together. Being all together made this hunt the best I've ever had (not to mention the deer I was able to harvest). Well we got to our favorite spot and made the game plan so my dad or bro would get a shot at a good buck. We have hunted this spot quite a few times and knew how the deer would react with the hunting pressure so my brother went up around the south side of the bowl and we sent my dad on a road that would take him to the top of the ridge so he could watch down in and I would push up from the bottom. We were an hour into daylight when we were all in position and I started the walk through the CRP field to the small patches of aspens and sage brush. I would walk about ten feet then glass bowl for any movement. I was stopped for the third time watching up the hill to my left and hadn't seen anything so I put the binos down and looked up to see where I was going and the buck was in the sage brush not 40 yards uphill from me a quik side view of the forks and height and knew this was a great deer. The rest is history.
