That is the way we used to do it. we would split the legs all the way out though. It really does work. Dont neck shoot your deer if you want to do it though. get a short piece of pipe with two caps. Drill 2 holes in one end and 1 in the other. run your cable through the one end and loop it back into the cap and use a cable clamp to hold the loop. makes skinning meat bucks quick, clean and easy!
