Here's the summarized version of my story...

I stalked this buck the first time and got to about 130 yards. He was with many eyes and ears, so I backed out as I didn't want to push them out of this canyon. I had a few days off from work so I made the long hike back in there again the next morning and I couldn't find him! I was only seeing small 2 pts, a rag horn 4pt and does. None of the bigger bucks were to be found. I thought this might be because of the rut not getting into full swing yet (my kill was on Nov. 4th).

Well, the next morning I had no intentions of going up but sat up in my bed at 4am and the "bug" got the best of me. Well, I'm glad I went up. I found the buck and closed the distance. Got in the "red zone" and took off the boots. I had two does and a small two point who busted me and I thought it was all over. They started moving away slowly. While they did this, the buck cleared and just stood there. I ranged, and then got into my shooting rhythm. "Fliiing, SMACK!" He went, maybe, 15 yards, got sick and rolled down the hill; amazing! I took some time to myself with the animal that I have so much respect for and waited a few hours for my Dad to arrive. He was actually with me that morning and got to watch the stalk and shot unfold but had to go back and get our pack frames. You all know how it goes from there...hugs, high fives, pics, and packing! I can't wait to do it again. Thanks for the help, Dad!

My Dad was also able to harvest a great buck this year. That makes 3-3 for my Dad and 4-4 for me. What a team! Now I just need to hold out for something like what Isaac and Bateman shot.

Best,

Why would you hunt with anything else besides Badlands? :)

"Hunt hard or go home!"

Gotta love the wasatch. Sweet buck! As for badlands I've always had problems with their stitching falling apart, haven't had any problems with my eberle ;)

Cody,
These are memories that the two of us will share forever, Thanks for including me in your hunts. Dad.

PS: Great pic's!

<------<< I love it when the plan comes together.
