Hey MM's

Haven't seen much of the management bucks?? Anyone that has had these tags Id like to see what was brought out... I heard a horror story off the Pauns... Buddy was down there with a guy that had the tag, they came across 3 different bucks that were shot and left to lie... not management bucks by any means. They turned em over to the DWR...

Is this thing gonna kick the herd in the butt by people acting foolish???

In any case, let's have the pics....

Well think about it.
Every management hunt the DWR has tried has failed, the management Elk hunt failed the very first year!
there's been 2 big management Bucks I've heard about that you'll probably never see,one was a 3 X 9 & 37" wide,the other buck was 3 X 7 & 33" wide.
Ya,let's kill Bucks 30"+ because they are considered JUNK!
Both the Bucks were up there in age, both hunters seen small JUNK bucks that shoulda been taken out of the herd, but what did they shoot?
Figure it out for yourself, most hunters taking bucks of this caliber on a tag that is supposed to be a management hunt are not gonna post pics, sorry!

Small junk bucks still have potential if they are young in age. The only thing an old 30" 3x4, 3x5, 3x???? is doing, is spreading bad genetics. He isn't gonna get any better. Deer management does work and I have seen it personally step up the quality bucks in an area.

I guess everyone who shot a 3x6-9 and it 30" wide will not post because they will get so much crap for hunting within the rules. WTF

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

I don't have a problem with guys shooting 3x anything. They spent the points, obviously did their homework. The reason you wont see to many guys shooting 3x10 bucks on that unit is because they want the 10x10 bucks with the same width.

I would like to see more management hunts especially in the book cliffs. Maybe they could cut the regular book-cliffs tags in half and turn them into management tags.

I don't know how you control the mentality you shoot first and count points later. except by increasing the fines by %100 and if you get caught you loose your truck, gun, camper, wheeler, hunting rights and nuts.

Archery is a year round commitment!!

sw,
You're gettin smarter.
For the most part, the Bucks doin the breeding in the Book Cliffs as we speak are Bucks nobody wanted to shoot during season.
I wouldn't mind seeing a management hunt, but just as you mentioned, take them tags out of the tags already alotted.
