My boss has a (sixteen) year old son who has taken two monster bucks since 2007.
Here is a picture of this years buck.

He say's he will take luck over skill anyday.
Any guess on the score? I will post the score after my night shifts mid-nextweek.
When he took a monster in 2007 I told his father he will probably hunt a lifetime before he gets a bigger one.....Wow I was wrong.
Both of his big bucks were during general hunting seasons.
I will post both bucks together later as well.
Thought I would share these monsters and thanks to JP for letting me.
Best,
Jerry

Congrats to the young hunter. Luck seems to pay into hunting most of the time. Sometimes more than others. What a great buck. Keep hunting and good luck in the future.

I will say 199, but I think he could be a little more than that.

I love all thoughs extras he has makes him a really cool buck, wonder how big he would have been if he had a couple more years to grow.

Awesome buck for the kid, Congrats.

Awesome buck for sure--over the mag. 200 for sure too! What part of the state (yea right).....?

I come up with about 200". Regardless of score, that buck is awesome! That kid has his work cut out for him now! I'd like to see the other buck.

Yeah, heck of a lot of antler on this awesome buck but scoring wise, he has some problems that will bring him down a bit. I see about a 200" non-typ, 180 class typical.

Great buck, love to shoot him myself, but guessing the scoring this old boy... his score alone just won't do him justice!

Congrats to the young hunter!!!

Joey

I put his main frame near 200 inches with 16 of trash........212-215

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

great deer ......
taken over a water hole?
just see wet tracks and a wet mouth!

Wet tracks, wet mouth?! If you can see that you got waaaaaay better eyes than me. Although it doesn't look like he got off the beaten path to far eh, clean boots and blue jeans. Man I wish I could run into that kind of luck once in a while!!

Have a good one. BB

LAST EDITED ON Dec-13-09 AT 04:23PM (MST)[p]My guess is 206" gross. Regardless of score that buck is awesome, I'm sure the boy is super happy.

Some of you were real close.
You have to see the buck in person>WOW
The buck scores 221 gross and will make book as a typical as well. After deductions this buck will still net high 190's or more.
I asked JP if he is gonna put this one and his sons other 2007 buck in B&C and it's up to the young man if he will or not.
They already know an official scorer who can do this for them.
Either way two monster bucks both would book and 16 years old.WOW.
I would not bet against him doing it again soon. Must hunt with a rabbits foot around his neck:)
It's up to the young man if he will reply to these posts himself.
Thanks everyone for the replies...I am posting his 2007 and this years buck in another post.
Best to all of you.
Jerry

Dang! Must be I was thinking the boy was more "kid-sized" instead of "grown man-sized" and had some scaling issues . . . Yeah, I'll go with that . . .

Must hunt with a rabbits foot around his neck.

Gee, I bet he had the whole RABBIT AROUND HIS NECK. Congrats to the young man and many more years of hunting.

That's a Stud!
Of course with the dog, untied shoes, type of clothes, young kid... I'm jealous! I'd bust my arse for one like that.

Was this buck killed in '08 or '09? Super fast taxidermy. They did a great job, and the young man should be proud.

Wow Jerry that is just amazing! So much for that 'ole concept of ruining one's hunting career by shooting a huge one while a youngster. Tell 'm congrats-

Doug

What a shame for such a nice buck. Fast is not always good.

the buck was one of the first heads in is why is was back so fast. Its a small shop so turn around is always 6 months or less and the quality is awesome
