Good Idea or Not? Yes or No?

Maybe it is just me but wouldn't it be better if these any season any weapon tags were provided to disabled hunters?
The state could either provide a donation box that hunters could use to donate a few dollars to next to hunting licenses applications or charge a measly couple extra bucks to everyone on big game licenses.
This would raise the same or probably (more) money for the state and species and also at the same time help out individuals that do not have the same physical abilities as you or I do.
A win/win situation if you ask me and I bet it would make these tags easier to swallow for everyone while at the same time making the $$ for wildlife and making us all feel good we had a part in making someones dream become reality.
Best,
Jerry

my disabled buddy got to hunt a week early plus all of the regular hunt and that wasen't enuf so they let them hunt november 7-8. We had a 26" buck down first 5 min nov 7th i think that they already give them ample time to get the job done even being disabled! Just what i think it's a bad idea.

I have no problem with the way it is now.

Also in Utah Disabled hunters get a extra month added to the front or back of there season which ever they decide to hunt, so there is no need for what you are proposing.

I fail to see the irony or sadness in anything JakeH had to post. Please elaborate.

I have two disabled (slightly) brothers and I am their guardian. I take them hunting. Their lack of success is not lack of opportunity.......they have LOTS of advantages (not that I would want to trade them places) over typical able-bodied hunters. The current system is not so bad.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

Knack if you didnt want people to oppose your Idea then why did you ask us for our oppions.

I would also like to say that I am in no way saying that disabled hunters shouldnt get the oppertunitys they have right now. It is a great system for them and it should be there.

I also wouldnt be opposed to haveing a box that you can check and make a donation to wildilfe, that is money that is guaranteed to go to projects on the ground to benefit Deer elk and other wildlife.

But I have no problem with the Goveners, Sportsman, Expo, and other Tags that are sold to the Highest bidder.

TheKnack its a great idea!!! I think that most of the people who posted previously are talking about Utah. Colorado doesn't offer much for the disabled. They get to obtain a permit to shoot from a vehicle thats about it. Yeah I agree with your idea it would be cool. But i don't think it should replace Gov Tags. I think that it would be a great addition. Or Colorado could make some changes to give disabled more time to hunt.

Thanks jcmuleys-I sent the idea to the CDOW. Maybe something will happen.

As for the others my ironic comment was you say that handicapped already have too many or enough priviledges-So do a certain group that can buy any tag or afford any outfitter and so on and still get more opportunities than anyone...Now do you see the irony?
The problem is I think a disabled veteran or someone who has no chance to live there dream because of a disability, deserves more leeway than any of us.
My opinion.

Jerry

as a disabled hunter myself who got to hunt 30 extra days on the book cliffs this year and 5 days before or after on a general season tag im pretty happy about the accomidations utah provides. the only thing i would like different is that they would allow 5 days early on the archery or muzz instead of only any weapon. it kinda blows having to hunt the rifle all the time to get extra days. i grew up as an archery hunter but its now next to impossible to do from a wheelchair and with limited use of my hands. if i had the 5 days on the archery i would be doing it every year instead.

as far as other states go they dont provide much or any assistance so i cant complain about utah.
