We are planning a mule deer/antelope combo in Wyoming, and are looking at unit 87 ( unit 62 for antelope ). The antelope season ends Oct 14th, the deer season starts the 15th. We would get there to hunt 12-13-14 for antelope, then more or less a week for deer. We have max points so our chances are good we will get both tags.

I learned of these units in HuntinFool, and Eastmans, but I don't know much about the terrain and the animals there. I live in the East so I don't have the chance to get around and scout.

We are not really trophy hunters, we just want to have a good chance at decent animals from both species. Success rate is high, from what I can see. That would be our first hunt for mule deer and antelope

Anybody know about these units ?
PM if you want...

You ought to have a fun combo hunt. The deer are mostly on the north 1/8 of 87. The entire south 1/2 of 62 antelope is checkard-board public/private so if you want to hunt the southern 1/2 you will need permission or pay a pretty steep price to hunt private land. Part of the southern part of 62 may be in the walkin only program but you'll have to check the regs when they come available...it can change from year to year? There also is walkin in the northern part of 87 for deer.
