Been scouting some highcountry using google earth tryign to narrow down some areas int he vast wilderness that I will be scouting this spring/summer for a fall archery mule deer hunt.

My question is what side of the mountain/ridge/basin do bachelor groups of mule deer prefer to spend their days on?

East, west, south or North?

I managed to misplace David Long's book in the move and I know that info is in there somewhere.

Thanks

The usually move so that they move in the shadows... Most likely a north face or east/west face depending on the day...

Depends on time of year and weather, you said fall so most likely North slope. when it gets cold and snow gets deeper they will usually move to the sunny south side.

Late summer and fall they are almost always on North and East aspects in the tall-forbs and shrubs.
