Vanishing Post's?

Why is it that anytime I post something with the word airplane, it gets removed? I haven't defamed anyone or stated something that is not true. You folks ignite to the high heavens when someone is implicated into taking of game illegally, and rightfully so. However when a true fact is stated and it may or may not pertain to a certain few you turn a blind eye. That is such hyprocisy. I don't care how big of an animal one harvests as long as it is done in fair chase. Perhaps the majority on here does not believe in fair chase, one can only speculate as to why some things are removed and others are not.
 
Typically I would just delete this post. However, this is a good time to explain why a post may be removed. You are welcome to post facts that you know, but atleast post your name and phone number so that the people you are posting "facts" about can call you rather than emailing me and then I have to get in the middle of it.

I get requests from time to time for posts to be removed because they are false. I then make a judgement call and sometimes remove posts.

If anyone has a post removed, and they are man enough to stand behind the post by sharing their name and telephone number so that the person they posted about can contact them, then I will most likely allow it to be reposted.

meat_saw - Email me your phone number and name, and then if you have some harsh facts to share about a person, then atleast if that person wants to talk about it, they can email you. OK? I sent you an email.

For all others, same goes. If you are going to post something that could do damage to someone or a business, share your name atleast. I can't believe it's such a big deal that some people are afraid to say who they are. If you know something, and it's "fact" what are you afraid of? We had something posted here the other day about an MM member getting arrested for a wildlife violation. It was removed, but shouldn't have been. But same thing, the poster used a phony name. What the heck you afraid of?

I typically have to assume if someone is afraid to share who they are when they post something that could damage a persons reputation, that there is a greater likelyhood it is false or exaggerated.

I see that quite a bit it seems. People like to bash each other but won't leave their names. I think they are too quick to judge or sometimes what someone is saying doesn't come out right.

Have there been any substantiated cases of someone being cited/convicted of harassing wildlife from the air?

I've seen several references/inferences but I haven't seen newspaper articles/evidence of facts posted.

PM if preferred, sorry for rubbernecking.
 
We had something posted here the other day about an MM member getting arrested for a wildlife violation. It was removed, but shouldn't have been.

Don't know that would qualify as being arrested? (maybe I'm wrong?)

But I do know this:
Whoever 2down is,they are a Gutless Bastard!

One thing I do know,the MM firing Squad is perty lethal & quick to pull the trigger,even before they know the facts they start hanging people.
 
if you can't prove it don't post it.! simple as that. don't be jealous meat saw. just cuz they kill bigger animals then you! year after year after year after year
 
Sorry B_BOP_A_LU_LU. I will clarify. They were charged with a SERIOUS wildlife crime...two crimes actually. Maybe innocent, maybe guilty...I don't know. But the charges are of public record, the person was an MM regular and a link to the charges were post here on the site. The thread was removed, but probably should not have been. I have no problem with a post that shows that a person has been charged with a wildlife crime. The links were to the Utah County website. There was no question that what was posted, was fact.

But once & again everybody is tried here on MM long before a legal trial.
This really ain't none of my business,but just because they are CHARGED,doesn't mean get the rope & Hang them here on MM!

Posting this kind of BS on Public Forums doesn't really help a guy that ain't done what he's been accused of.

The good old MM way: Guilty until proven innocent is how most Hollier than though Angels look at things.

As far as whether he is guilty or not, that is for a court to decide. I caught a poacher this past fall and I know for a "FACT" he is guilty, but he has not plead guilty yet. I can only assume he is claiming he is innocent to his friends, yet I know he is not.

I agree that just because someone is charged with a crime, doesn't mean they are guilty. However, just because they claim they're innocent, doesn't mean they're innocent either. Most people in prison will tell you they're innocent.

Charges typically aren't brought against people unless there's a decent amount of evidence to back up those charges.

Why should it be the job of MonsterMuleys.com to keep the fact that someone was charged with wildlife crimes a secret when the information is posted on a county website?

Anyone else find it odd that the folks at HF are seemingly on MM more than B BOP? I thought they were busier than that. :)
 
Founder, If it was required to post your Name, Address, and Phone number on the profile area, allot on nonsense post's would not happen. When people can hide behind such names as Mickey Mouse, anything goes. It this possible in the future.
 
No. I would never require people to share with the world who they are, where they live, and what they like to do. For years, I have worried a little about people knowing where I live. I rememeber when those Anti-Fur people burned a business down here in the Salt Lake Valley years ago. I have always worried (a little) that some nutcase, freak anti-hunter would show up in my families life. I would feel horrible if someone on this site was targeted by some nut job out there.
Even if I went as far as requiring people to use a credit card to register a username (so that I knew who that person really was), I would not just share that info. with whomever wanted it.
So, in the end. All would be the same, but would make it more difficult for people to use this site.

If people want to remain anonymous, that is fine. I guess my opinion is that if someone is going to post something about some person or business that could hurt that person or business, just have the guts to stand behind it.

PS - meat_saw did PM me his name, or atleast I guess it's his real name. Hopefully he'll return to the Nevada 241 thread and post something stating that he stands behind his words and lets Jason Carter know who he is, or apologize to Jason and retract the comments. In his PM, he stood behind his comments that I removed.

i think that is as fair as a reply as you can ask for.

if you have something to say, lay claim to it. i like it.

i check out another hunting site and they do the exact same thing, but even if someone wants to bash equipment. if you bash badlands, meindle, etc.... sign your name.
 
Founder u r spot on. No matter what decisions or policies u create there will be opposition. Just continue to be as fair as possible with this site and the posting removals. It is a judgement call on your part. I wouldn't want to be in your position. I heard about this accusation two months ago back east from a very reliable source. I guess there was some truth to it. But posting it on here would have been wrong without proper evidence.
 
Come on boot, this has nothing about being jealous of anything. the post was simply stated that carters like areas that they can fly. I have seen them flying, I have however never seen them flying during hunting season. I did not accuse anyone of anything. Nothing more and nothing less. And yes the majority on here always assume the attitude of, you are guilty until proven innocent. That is a sad reallity and I am affraid that will never change.
 
I was totally honored to be asked to moderate here for Founder, i accepted the postition with great pride. I did however ponder it for a few days because i DO have many "misfit" friends on here and i knew there'd be a time or two i'd have to nuke something they posted and stay true to this site.
I made an extremely personal judgement call last week and deleted something i simply shouldn't have according to the rules of MM and i knew better.
But i took a few things into serious consideration before i did....one being released from my position, the other, losing a friend. Luckily neither happened, but i was sat down in the cyber leather seat and reminded of a few things!! ;-)
I feel greatful i still have a friend in the accused, and a friend with Founder and this site.
This world can be mighty cruel at times when we're in the spotlight for something, especially when it's something negative. People simply thrive on other peoples drama, maybe it makes us feel better about our own situations, i just don't know.
I knew full well about the pending case and i'm also very confident it will be tossed out. But like Founder pointed out, that's the judges call to make, not mine.
I did a favor for someone and made a personal judgement call upon myself, but that didn't make it right by the rules.....only by my moral standard.
As for all the Alias's lately, wow!!!
There seems to be a few types of alias's. There are the ones that are in fun, the ones who hide behind the new screen name to hide something, and the ones that back that person.
All i can say about this is that the ones hiding behind their new names because of wrong doing on their part are that they are just plain cowards. How else can it be put?

hey meat saw. you say you saw them flying but never during the season. well is is it against the law to fly before season.? is it a wildlife crime to fly up until two days before the hunt starts? please read the regulations before you post that a group of people are breaking the law. please tell me is it against the law to fly if no hunts are going on. if you don't know the rules then why tell everyone they are breaking the law.

I don't recall Meat Saw ever saying anything about breaking the law. I think this issue comes down to the definition of "Fair Chase".

The problem with "definition of fair chase" is you will get 3,000 answers and everyone thinks there way is the right way. I say if you want a clear definition look at the regs.
Maybe Meat came across the wrong way and wasnt trying to cause damage. But it sure came off that way.

I have no problem with what Slam did on that thread.

Public record or not, I thought it was not in the best of taste for M&M.

Brian has always tryed to be a very stand-up and fair guy with his M&M site.

It seems to me that FOUNDER only seems to delete posts from this sight that target his friends or people that profit from the big game hunting industry.If this sight is for everyone to use than dont delete anything,were all smart enough to see the truths or lies in the posts we choose to click on and read.I have personally had posts that were deleted when I brought up FACTS about certain individuals that do buisness with this sight.I can go through posts right now that bash people pretty bad and they dont get deleted.Treat everyone the same not just your friends and buisness partners. Do you really believe Founder is supposed to leave all of the BS that is posted on here? He is really supposed to believe all the gossip as well. I don't blame him a bit for deleting it. If someone is really worried about what is going on, they can do their own research ie... DWR Website..

What good does it even accomplish? It doesn't help this website one bit. I am surprised he leaves as much of it posted.

And don't think for a minute "everyone" can weed through everything and and KNOW for a fact if it is fact or faction. That is flat out WRONG...
 
Really muleymaiden!! If you really don't like how founder is running this website/forum, then don't use it. I personally think he runs a fine site. Also Im sure he does not just delete posts for his friends. In today's world there is a lot of gossip and bad mouthing. I understand this as well as anyone else. I have to say BRIAN THANKS FOR THE WONDERFUL WEBSITE! I can't even begin to express how many people on here are willing to share information, tips and what lengths strangers will go to help fellow hunters. THANK YOU!
 
First off lets make sure you know that this is not muleymaiden.I never said I dont like this sight or how it is ran but, why delete anything that is said on here?I thought this was an open discussion forum.If you delete anything said on here than you have to agree its bias in that very definition.If this is a free discussion forum than nothing should be censored especially someones opinion.If someone has facts than post them and we can make our own opinion on those facts.I must agree that founder has to look at it in many different aspects legal/moral/respect for personal feelings etc. and the list goes on but someones opinion shouldnt be deleted for any reason on an open forum discussion.Deleting somthing from here doesnt make it open forum it makes it a censored,biased sight but you make your own opinion on it! BONE (not muleymaiden, but I thank her for the use of her computer)

Absolutely wrong; I don't think you get it. Its not free, and I am sure it takes a lot of $$$ to operate. Do you think the owner is going to let someone get on here and discredit a MM sponsor? If they are wrong in the accusation should it be left on here anyway LOL... You can't be serious...

There is not any rights any of us have on here. Its privately owned and we are free to come and go as we please.

I like coming here and getting odds for free, seeing great pic's, reading great stories for free.

I have met some great people on this site that have helped me a lot. I hope Founder keeps things the way they are!!! And I won't cry if he deletes any of my posts lol...!!!
 
Seems to me meatsaw said "they like anywhere they can fly and get away with it" sounds pretty MISLEADING to me....watch your mouth or fingers unless u have proof....my 2 cents
 
I think you misunderstood the use of the word "free". Obviously it takes money to run this sight and im sure everyone who uses it is very thankful to founder for making such a place to come to for all your stated reasons and then some. However when I read through posting that trash certain people/groups such as Indians or maybe Nikon optics or whatever/whoever it may be why arent they treated the same.Does someone have to call and complain about a posting to delete it or are there guidelines. It comes down to this, if you dont like it dont read it,then you wont have to make your own opinion on it.I am not a hater of this sight it is hands down the best place for us western hunters but you would think everyone would be treated the same. I wont cry if founder deletes any of my posts either he'll just prove my point. BONE.

As I've said before, I have no problem with "opinions". I do have a problem with someone posting claims about someone else that are not true. Jason Carter said the claims made about him by meat_saw were not true. Since meat_saw was unwilling to back up with comments with his name, I felt the appropriate thing to do was remove the posts.

I, nor the moderators of this site, can read "every" post posted. Simply too many and we all have other things to do also. Therefore, some stuff, probably too much stuff sometimes, slips by. Sorry. We do the best that we can.
Lots of judgement calls are made. Sometimes we get them right, other times we do not. I've both removed threads I shouldn't have and not removed threads I should have. People using this site will just have to deal with it, or go elsewhere I guess.

As for the guy claiming I delete posts for friends....YOU ARE NUTS!!!! I have allowed a LOT of crap to be said about not only myself, but also my friends and sponsors. I'm sorry, but you're a fool to think I protect my friends or sponsors of this site. I think I'm pretty dang good about letting people voice their opinions, regardless as to whether it's towards a sponsor or myself.

I got my panties all in a bunch over a deleted post once. I emailed slam about it and regret doing that. Keep a couple things in mind...we are all human, the world is an imperfect place, and the world is not fair. Don't take it personal, cause it is (most likely) not.

My attitude now is I just do not care. Nuke away mods, nuke away....
