This is for all the NR sportsmen who will soon be applying for AZ DEER & BIGHORN SHEEP tags!

You can get a PERMANENT bonus point for these species, along with elk, antelope, turkey and bear IF you take the AZ Hunter Education Supplemental class which will be held on April 24, IN Kingman, AZ.

This one day (12 hour) class can be taken IF you have taken a hunter education class in another state since 1980.

To sign up, contact Dave Williams @ AZ G&F at 623-236-7434.

You'll need to FAX your hunter ed card to him and then he'll put you on the list.

One thing we discuss in detail is the bonus point system, and I should have all the info to help you in your draw strategy for this year.

It is a long day, but I think well worth it--just ask around on MM from guys who have taken the class in the pass--.

See you Saturday!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-18-10 AT 06:55PM (MST)[p]Amen!
It was a fun, educational day and a bonus point to boot- I recommend for all interested in hunting Arizona. I traveled from Idaho. Thanks for the ride back to Kingman, too, Don!

It was a fun one-day class, and I enjoyed getting to meet Don and several other friends of his. We drove down from Idaho to Las Vegas with the wives for a 4-day weekend, left them for the day to go to some spas, and returned that night. Seemed like a good trip for us all.

Did the extra bonus point help? Don't know for sure, but I have managed to get drawn for two 12B deer tags and two Unit 8 bull elk tags since attending. :)

Don - is the class offered about the same time each year? I can't make this one, but would like to pencil it in on my calendar if it's going to be around the same time next year.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-19-10 AT 06:57AM (MST)[p]We offer this class twice a year. The first class is always the first Saturday AFTER New Year's Day weekend in January. We do it at that time so that guys who bowhunt can take advantage of the over the counter archery deer and the easy to get javelina tags and seasons that are open at that time.

The second class, the one held in April, is kind of dependent on IF I can get enough volunteer instructors for any given date during the month.

Gonna be tight this weekend as lots of other things happening, including the opening of the AZ turkey season. But since I didn't draw, we're all good for staff this weekend.

Anyone coming needs to call the Silver Queen motel (928-757-4315) and a dvise staff you are there for Hunter's Education.

There is the River Run in Laughlin, NV this weekend, and rooms are tough to find anywhere, at any price, but there are still a few available for Hunter Ed. Call me if you have have any problems.

Just a question. why is the course only available for those who took hunters saftey after 1980? Interested just dont understand the reason.

I can't answer the question about the cut off date. I didn't set it. You can call Dave Williams @ G&F in Phx at623-236-7434 and I'll bet he can advise.

Class in January, 2011 will be on Saturday, the 8th.

The Hunter Ed class we teach is ALWAYS held in Kingman at the Mohave Sportsman Club's 7 Mile Hill Range.

I understand they now have a website with location info, etc. on it.
