ARCHERY I HAVE 7 POINT GOING IN TO NEXT YEAR LIVE IN LEHI UT. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT VERON.I THINK ICAN DRAW NEXT YEAR FOR VERON.

A lot of people draw the Pauns with 8 points. I say hold out. But I also only saw management bucks with my mom last year on there. Don't get me wrong there are monsters but we didn't find any.

I'd put in for Book Cliffs if I wanted a fun archery hunt. Last year during the archery hunt, we took a trip to scout the landscape for the rifle hunt. We were only there 2 days and we could have stepped out of our truck, and stuck more than a dozen nice 140"-150" 4 points, and 2 that were close to if not 180" deer... From the road...!!! We also saw a bunch of hunters with great deer on four-wheelers, and in camps... You won't really have a shot at some 200" buck, but the deer size is relative to vernon, and there are way more of them. 7 points is a lock for the Book Cliffs archery...

Vernon isnt what its cracked up to be.Years ago used to be good.but for archery i would say books or pauns.Vernon will be a very tough archery hunt for anyone.Just from the terrain.IMO

Go for Vernon and maybe you will get a deer like shootnfools deer. It is posted up on this forum as my 09 buck. It was posted up just a day or so.

Just an FYI....Vernon is not a "LOCK" for 7 pts - it's a draw unit! Believe me, I've tried from point Zero all the way to point 8 and NOW have my sights set on a BIGGER and BETTER unit.

Books would be a better choice for Archery. As was stated, the terrain in th Vernon unit is some nasty stuff and your shots would most likely be looooong ones. Books has more opportunity IMHO.
