Nv. Leftover List/appl.

Are the "Longbow" hunts strictly longbow hunts or can you use any archery equipment? Thanks.

It just means no crossbows, regs are available online at either huntnevada.org...i think or ndow.org

This is probably a dumb question but does an applicant lose his bonus points if he draws one of these tags in the second drawing?

LAST EDITED ON Jun-25-10 AT 09:37AM (MST)[p]You do loose your points I have got 3 lefover tags in years past and and I go back to zero every time. There are leftover tags in the rubys every year for archery.

A hunter's bonus points revert to zero in a particular species category when he is successful at obtaining a tag or fails to apply for two consecutive years.

This is right from there page and it dosent mater if it first or second draw as long as you get a tag you loose your points.

I will say it again I have lost my points on the second draw three times getting the leftover tags, each time I have only had one point but I lost it and started the next year wit zero.I have even got a left over antalope tag on the second draw and lost my point.

The first time I put in for the left over tags I had a nevada biolagist tell me I wouldnt loose my points,I only had two but I lost them ,I would have thought he would have known but oh well I got to hunt at least.
I was just trying to save some of the boys from burning there points they may have been building for years,on the ruby tag you can get with just a point or two in the regular draw.

There was a time when you didn't lose your points. At that time there were always leftover archery tags so a lot of guys were collecting their points and then applying for leftover archery and getting to hunt even though they built points. It was a good racket while it lasted. :)
