What elevations will they be at? I know the higher the better but will you find them around 6000 or 700 feet for example? I am going out this weekend and don't want to waste my time? Thanks for your thoughts.

Depends on when and where your hunting. There will be deer down low in hay fields and up at treeline. I find alot of deer at 6-7 thousand feet.

Look for feed, cover and water. Mule deer live from less than 1000 ft in the desert down here in AZ to 13000 ft in CO.
