First buck

My 12 year old boy took this fine Muley after 3 days of hunting. We had a ton of fun scouting, camping, and hunting on this, his first deer hunt. He passed up 5 four-points and 2 nice three-pointers before taking this buck.

I green scored this buck at 170 3/8". It took me 18 years to kill a buck that size...he did it in 3 days. He still gets a grin from ear to ear when someone asks him about it.

Awesome First Buck! Congrats to both you and your son. I know the feeling of watching your kids shoot their first animals. Nothing beats that feeling! Looking forward to trying to get my 12 year old daughter on her first buck next week.
