Guys I have to start out by saying I have read many of your posts and replies from time to time. I have learned a lot and very much appreciate my gradual progression along the learning curve that is hunting muleys.

Here is my question/topic of discussion I wanted to put out there: Last year I was fortunate enough to hunt the Paunsaugunt for the rifle buck deer hunt. It was the hunt of all hunts for me and seeing all those great bucks was so much fun. I ended up connecting on a 28" wide 180 class buck.

I live in southern Utah and have just started archery hunting this year. I have been wondering and wanted to inquire on what the general consensus is from people on Monster Muleys on if it is possible to hunt for and have a big chance at Paunsaugaunt deer that leave the border of limited and enter Dixie National Forest/ general? My point is this- last year a kid from Kanab connected on a 200 class buck on the general side of highway 89. No doubt he was a Pauns buck that had crossed over. I have also heard of people around Tropic that connect yearly on Pauns bucks.

Is it worth seeking out these "border crossers" or am I just fooling myself? I know that the deer are high up on the plateau?pinks right now. I have thought it would be worthwhile to drive the loop around 89, etc from Alton over into Tropic looking for areas on the general side that might hold some of these giants.

Opinions? Any one done this?
