Wyoming

Saw that Star Valley got a little dusting of snow on the Mtns. This will be my first wyoming back country hunt, hey guys what kind of weather should I expect in the morning and nights in the middle of september in region H? Just didn't want you guys to have to come and pull my my frozen Ass off the Mtn.

Thanks
Mark

RE: Wyoming

LAST EDITED ON Aug-31-10 AT 06:22AM (MST)[p]Mornings and nights will be frosty. Otherwise, cold or hot, wet or dry, windy or calm, sun or rain or snow... Mostly likely any combination of the above. Be prepared to dress for any weather and layer. You'll likely shiver as you glass in the morning and sweat like none other during the day, followed by a good chill as the sun sets in the evening. The temperature changes just from variation between sunny and cloudy can be surprising (especially if a little breeze is involved).

The ten day forecast for the valley is down in the mid thirties to low forties. I expect it will be cooler than that most nights, and definitely so higher up.

RE: Wyoming

mmwb has is dead on, you have to be prepared for anything if you are camping. I am serious when I say definitely bring a small tube of sunscreen and also be prepared for single digits and a foot of snow. it very likely could be absolutely beautiful in the mid 20s at daybreak and then up to the 60s in the afternoon or you could be in a mountain snowstorm.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-31-10 AT 07:27AM (MST)[p]Last year in 135 (G just south of your location) I got snowed on every day !! Granted that was October 1st. Be prepared for the cold and you should be fine.

RE: Wyoming

I live in Northern Arizona and it pretty much sounds like the crazy weather we get here, I figured a bit more extreme up in your country, Thanks for the advice I just wanted to confirm what I have already packed, I may just add a little more.

RE: Wyoming

Snowed on me on Monday Sept. 24th, 2007 while hunting Antelope, be prepared for it and have good tires and/or chains.
