My buddy sent me these pictures the other day with a message saying

"Finally got pictures of these beauties. I've been chasing them for 2 weeks and got them pretty well pegged, but i can't close the deal come help me."

I know the area he hunts and it actually is capable of producing some big bucks. These are exceptional bucks and even though the terrain didn't look quite right of course I wrote him back and told him not only should we go but that I probably wouldn't sleep until we did.

He wrote back and said he was just razzing me because while he did take those photos this week, he took them in an area that is closed to hunting. We got a good laugh and I thought I'd share the pics.

OK, since they are not wild public land bucks that get hunted, great pic's by the way and pardon the liberty, i'll ask the question that i asked myself:

Just for sayings sake, say the non-typ is 33" outside, is a 9X10, and net scores 245.
The typical buck say, is 30" outside, a clean 5X5, and is a Net Typical 201"
You can only shoot one, which one do you shoot given almost certain equal chance at either one?

I've still got a few un-punched tags!

That big Trashy bastard would go down first!
The other Buck better make a quick git-a-way,lol!:D

I love not acting my age,
Damn I love my NASCAR race,
And Hell yes I love my Truck!

Trashy would be on my hit list too.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

Sageadvise, I wish I could go back and change the title of this post to "big trashy"! Great name

I don't see that big one going 245 as one has suggested but he is a great buck and the obvious shooter.

Maybe we should suggest letting him grow a yr and try to fix that gimpy g2, which appears to be his only "weakness"

I guess I'll be the oddball by saying that I like the typical better.

I do, there is something about big typicals that appeals to me.

Can only take one, the Typical for me!

Some here on mm have before accused me of at times, being high and mighty and i reply, who me? Well here's a case where my personal ethics and high regard for the Fish and Game laws would be very much put to test. Both those bucks are way better than anything i've ever taken after a lifetime obsession of mostly just hunting big Muley and Blacktail bucks. Yes, i know that with 2 giant bucks like that, i would be very tempted. Best case scenario: a good friend is along at my side and we both have tags!!

Now i feel dirty, i need to go wash my typing fingers. :)

LAST EDITED ON Sep-11-10 AT 01:01PM (MST)[p]I got some bad news for you both. Neither of these bucks will go as big as said. After watching them last night and this morning I figure the typical will go 190-195 at 27 wide, and the bigger buck maybe 32 wide with 4 cheaters on the left and 2 on the right. The week G2 on the right hurts his score but he will break the 205 mark, but won't exceed the 215. Your buddy should have taken pics of the monster buck on the other side of the ridge. He might go 225+ and is 36+. But these bucks won't be hunted until next year when the odds will be re d i c k u less. :)

LAST EDITED ON Sep-11-10 AT 01:36PM (MST)[p]Yellum buddy, did you read my first post? I didn't say what i thought was or guess the bucks scores! Maybe i didn't put my question right. Have a good one and thanks for the info. I knew they were Monsters is all, they are and still, way better than my best bucks.

Joey

Ya, I read it and knew you had it pegged. Either way they are sweet bucks to see. Better than mine too.
