High Country Mule Deer - Which States?

Which states offer high country mule deer hunting? I'm talking hardcore, DIY, pack-in hunting opportunities into the high alpine, 9,000ft plus and 3+ miles back...

I've heard of Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah. But what about Montana?

Can't speak for the other states, but Colorado offers the kind of hunt you're looking for. 9,000 ft is the elevation of the town you'll be getting gas in. Better plan on 11,500 if you want a timberline hunt. Good luck.

I live in Wyoming and hunt the high country in Colorado and Nevada (when I draw). That should tell you where I feel like the best high country hunting is located.

Colorado probably has the most opportunuty. Nevada also has some good high country units in the Ruby Mountains.
