LAST EDITED ON Oct-14-10 AT 01:59PM (MST)[p]Whenever I jog in Corner Canyon (I live up on top of Pt of the Mtn) I see deer. I have no idea what, if any, hunting regulations there are up there. Obviously, the part that Draper City has annexed would be off limits, but once you get over into non-Draper Utah County are there any rules prohibiting hunting? There's a ton of coyotes too. Anyone with any experience over there?

private property as well

There are no big bucks in Utah! LOL

ya anything below the road that goes along the lone peak side is closed to hunting. but anything on the east side of the road is fair game.

Ya i used to have alot of experience up there,till they built all those houses where the deer winter. sorry just had to throw that out there ,just bitter i guess.

You'd love me then - I live up in Suncrest. Love it up here, but I gotta admit - I feel somewhat guilty living up here where all the deer, elk, etc used to winter. But I do love living up here.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-17-10 AT 04:53PM (MST)[p]My neighbor's house overlooks the south face of the mountain. We've watched two bulls just screaming at each other the last few weeks. It's been cool, but maddening at the same time - they're both shooters - and any idiot with a rifle could take them from my neighbor's patio...maybe even someone like me could snag one with a bow. They're that close - and that unafraid.

I've seen many nice 3 and 4 point bucks too - that's just out jogging or driving. I'm sure if I spent any time back there scouting, I could come back with some nice pics of some monster bucks.

That's exactly why I hope they keep it closed. Can't the animals have one place they can go on the front without being harrassed?

I would be absolutely floored if they opened the mountain up to hunting, with all the homes here now. Plus, there's so many hikers and mtn bikers on all of the trails - I just don't see it happening.

My original post was contemplating Corner Canyon (to the east of South Mtn - in between South Mtn and Lone Peak). There's no homes over there...but there's a lot of recreators over there...

nope you cant hunt down in the bottom down in there. its all closed. from the back of the houses along the edge by the temple all the way to the east side where the road is. anything east of the road on the lone peak side is legal to hunt though. i thought those elk left suncrest during the summer and only came there for the winter. thats cool you can watch them from your house.
