Piper ,Why dont you just post up the story .You seem to have more info than the rest of us .

The hunter is from CA. He is a co worker of a friend of mine. Was told he drew the tag and a buddy of his living in WY had been watching the buck for the last 2 years. It is just over 40". I will try to find out more info tomorrow.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-25-10 AT 04:46PM (MST)[p]I believe piper is referring to a buck that was killed in Star Valley Ranch. It scores in the 245+ range. I don't know the hunter personally so I won't post the picture, but a mutual friend texted me a photo and it's a toad. My understanding is that it was a pet buck that never left the private property in the last few years and the shooter was given permission to shoot it from the porch.

>Looks like a lucky Mexican Road
>Hunter! Poor freakin buck probably
>didn't see him coming!!!

Nothing like a hint of jealously mixed with just of tinge of Bigotry.

Stop the hate :)

This photo has been posted on Boone and Crockett trophy watch for quite a while

Supposed to tape out at 250

This post is involving two different big bucks that came out of G. The buck pictured plus another that went over 245 that lived about 3 miles from my house.

2 different bucks.....Star Valley ranch buck and the Cokeville buck, which is the one pictured on the B&C web-site.

Here's the real story on the Buck. There were 3 guys that were hunting togather, they call themselves Team Brokeback. The day the buck was harvested, they got a late start because they were up late feeding the stripers at the Bull Moose dollar bills all night. So about noon, after a brief argument on who's going to be the lucky guy who gets to sit in the middle, they jump on their quad. Yes, they have one quad for the 3 of them. So they drive up the road to check on their favorite flock of sheep. After "checking" on their sheep, they drive up the road and jump the buck out of some sage. They chase the buck for 5 or 6 miles on their quad and the buck finally gets stuck in a cattle guard. They get off their quad and do the Rock, Paper, Scissor thing on who gets to shoot it, and the rest is history.

are you one of them 3 broke back mtn. feller's?? seem to know alot about the "real" story.. just kiddn.....

....and I think I know less about these bucks now than when I started reading this thread haha.

Doing quad drives to herd the deer to get their feet stuck in cattle guards is old news, people have been doing that for years :). (funny story shotgun)

That was the same story I was trying to tell just in fewer words! Thanks for the NUKE!

I know less now, then I did ten minutes ago.

Hey guys I have seen this buck on just about every web site out there. Has anyone figured out the true story on this magnificant muley. All the people that have posted pictures of this buck and no accurate information!! Still waiting!!!!!! Sure would be a shame not share this with all.

There's a movie deal in the works, you'll have to wait until it comes out on the big screen. Also some magizine who isn't paying him anything has all exclusive rights to the story.

Shotgunjim, I am still rolling after reading your story. But please do not mock the Bull Moose, it is a great place to scout big racks, and the bolnde bartender Jen will take good care of you. JK
