VERY HAPPY with this deer. Been hunting this unit for the past 3 years now and finally connected with one of the 4x4's I have been chasing. Special thanks to my best friend Brian for spotting for me during my shot. Brian also connected on his first Muley (a nice 2x1). (I'll let him post pictures of his)
313 yards, 30.06, 150gr Winchester Powermax.

Congrats on a good buck.
Is that a big or average one for the area??? I don't know much about that area, basically because know one ever talks about it so I was just curious.

I personally think its pretty big for the area. I have definetly seen larger but in the area we hunt in your lucky to see a 4x4. Most of the deer are in the 1-2 year old class. This guy was atleast 4 years old.

I'll just say it was in the Sonoita area. Wanna keep the unit to myself. Still a bigger one I'm chasing for January.

Thanks for the congrats everyone.

Nope...no Border Patrol at all. The only time I talked to them was running through the checkpoint with both deer. They said we were the only ones who pulled anything out of the unit so far. I never really have had a problem down in Southern Arizona. Most of what you hear, I truly believe, is nonsense. There are lots of areas with trash and illegals, but they generally will turn the other direction when they see you. I'm sure bad things happen, but I've never seen it.

well great job I am in San Diego County here you have BP all over you, good guys but they are in the middle of everything.
