Found this old 9X10 mule deer rack in an attic where it had lived since the '60z. It has a metal tag that says USF Game Permit 13456, any way of finding the history with this info? Thanks, Lon

Wish I could go back and re-spell a couple things! Sorry!

Awesome rack. Check out the mass and all those cheaters.
This rack has a great deal of character. Tremendous find.
Have the rack mounted on a quality cape.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-10 AT 00:16AM (MST)[p]Thanks! OK, what to look for in a cape, that is the direction I was heading. Do I want a big mount that may make the rack look small but appropriate or a smaller mount to make the rack stand out, or just something natural what ever that would be! Thanks, Lon

LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-10 AT 00:36AM (MST)[p]Go and look at different mounts to give you an idea and
then speak to a taxidermist for further ideas and work
from there. Make sure you are first happy with the work
of that taxidermist before deciding on having your rack
mounted. The cape is always relative to the size, color,
and uniqueness of the rack.
Good luck and let us know how the mount comes out.

Not that it really matters nor is it worthy of this monster forum but can this rack be ball park scored just by posting pic's & a tape? Thanks!

I don't think he goes 200" just because his main frame looks to be about 170"... And I give him exactly 27" of extras.. So 197"...?? Of course... I'll look at it later and say, wait, look at the trash at the bases, he's gotta go 201" lol

Also, where are you located...?? I would recommend Monarch Taxidermy in South Jordan if you're in the SLC area... Was in Curtis' shop this weekend and he has some incredible mounts and is an All-Around great guy. He would do you a great job... You can google him and find his web site...

This has been upgraded by a taxidermist at 10X12 because of the trash at the base!
