My little brother shot his deer yesterday in a rainstorm in southern utah. It was his first deer. We glassed for hours and looked at a ton of deer we just couldnt find any monsters. We saw a 24 inch buck on friday night and hauled a55 to get to him but it got dark on us. We tried to find him on saturday but couldnt turn him up. So we saw a little buck hangin with some does and my buddy asked if it was ok if he shot him and I told him if he wanted to he could pull the trigger. He was able to knock him down at 148 yds with a 300 ultramag. The buck ran 20 yds and bedded and was done. My little brother had a riot and was pumped it was his first deer. We wanted a big buck but some times ya just have to settle for less. I was able to get the whole thing on film which made it a bonus. Good job Travis it was a fun hunt.
