This is Option # 5 Deer Management Plan:

4 Point or better in all 5 Regions!
You get caught trying to sneak a PISSCUTTER out You'll get a 100,000.00 Fine, forfeit your wheeler,the DWR siezes & Auctions your Gun off & You spend 1 year in the State Pen!

Ban every QuadQueer off the USFS & BLM!
You get caught You'll pay a 200,000.00 fine & your Quad will be donated to the local wrecking yard & ground up in to metal filings,you lose your hunting Privelidges for Life & spend 2 years in the state Pen!

Archery Hunters will only be allowed to use Recurves,Maximum 50 lb draw,you get caught with your high powered Mathews,BOWTECH,PSE,Hoyt,Browning,Etc it'll be a 300,000.00 fine & lose your rights to hunt for life!

Muzzleloader Hunters will only be Allowed to use Traditional/Hawken/Flintlock Type of weapons!
If you get caught with your High Powered Omega's & such there will be a 400,000.00 fine & 1 year with the local Bubba's down at the Jail Cell!

Rifle Hunters will only be allowed to pack weapons up to .50 Caliber(lol) with a maximum of 6X Scopes!
You get caught sneaking your 50X Scopes along with 2,000 yard RangeFinders & Long Range Scopes You'll be fined 500,000.00 & 2 years in the state Pen!

Archery Season will be 10 days long so get the days picked!

Muzzleloader season will be an early hunt & 9 days long!

Rifle Season will be 7 days long!

Non-Stop/Continuous/Overlapped Hunts of all kinds will come to a Flyin Hault!

There won't be any f'n cow hunts goiing on while Mule Deer are rutting!For GAWDS sake let them Relax & do their thing!

There will NOT be any SPIKE/PISSCUTTER hunts ever tried on the already suffering Deer Herd of Utah!

GEEZUS,shut them FRICKEN Doe hunts completely down!

The use of 1080 should be used again,but since we know that ain't gonna happen let's kill/trap every Coyote we see!

Let's start Fencing Hi-Ways/Installing Culverts & whatever else it might take to cut down on so damn many RoadKills!

If & when we got a problem with Mule Deer let's move them rather than kill them if at all possible!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-06-10 AT 07:56PM (MST)[p]Point restrictions don't work, unless you want giant 2 & 3 points running all over, kind of like the Book Cliffs. Remember the point restrictions they tried out there? Now look at all the mature, less than 4x4 bucks out there.
If there's point restrictions in place, either
A. Split the tags so a percentage is 4 point or better and the rest are 3 point or smaller. (not my favorite idea)
B. Give some any buck tags to youths who will kill the genetically inferior mature 2 & 3 points which will surely show up. (I like that idea)

That plans make way too much sense. No way would you get away with it. You'll have a giant sedan pull into the big top and have all of our favorites pour out and start running around doing their thing. My hell if you start archery hunting you will realize that the deer herd is just fine!!!!!

I also archery hunt some but obviously it is not our passion. Our passion is Mule Deer and the future of hunting them. If we were true die hard "FRONT" (man, I wish I could make the angel sunbeams shine on that word) archery hunters we would understand that carrying that bow every year overrides any logic about the future!

I have been youtubing old Fred Bear clips to see if they make me feel better about the situation our deer herds are in. It just doesn't seem to be doing it for me!

I grew up during the time when they closed the Paunsagaunt. The fall before they closed it we put 3000 miles on dirt roads with a spot light out there and saw 5 does, TOTAL!!! After 5 years of being closed we had the best mule deer unit In The World! The proof is in the puddin. It is as simple as WE HAVE GOT TO QUIT KILLING THE DAMN DEER. ITS THAT SIMPLE. IT WORKS. WE HAVE A MODEL THAT HAS BEEN PROVEN TO WORK. I WITNESSED IT FIRST HAND. YOU CANT ARGUE WITH THE FACTS!!!

Some body needs to tell that to the guy I saw on the news who says that is like going east to disney land when he kows its west.WTH!!! I too saw that with the Pauns I also saw it with the Henries. Hell I thought I was the only one. Glad to see I was'nt, but after looking at the hooflaw of the RAC meetings one thing is for sure option two the one that is great for the Deer Population rebounding not so good for bubba and all his UTARD friends having a tag every year will not happen. The options (1 or 3) which hardly cut tags and refuse to manage the deer will win out. Im convinced!!! If this mentality keeps up we wont have to worry about wolves eating deer in utah. There wont be a damn deer left.

I agree, but you knew they were not going to pick option 2 because it would force them to cut to many tags. This way they can cut their token 7% as advertised and go on for a couple more years, but like you said it will come back to bite them when there is no deer left.

We might as well go talk to a wall than try and get the DWR to listen to the people out in the woods seeing what is really going on. They are too worried about keeping their paychecks ans brand new trucks. Very frustrating!

For all I care they can drive Brand spankin new trucks hire 20 more fish cops and 10 biologists that all have a good paycheck. If its cash their worried about charge more money per tag its that damn simple. I do not know the UTARD reasoning behind everybody in camp having to have a tag in their pocket to hunt deer. Some of my most memorable hunts I have had was when I didnt have the killtag. I still went hunting and it was a great time. But no matter what happens there will still be alot of people pissed about everything and there is no easy answer to make everyone happy. I hope the deer have more survival skills/instinct than I think they do at this point. This could be a turning point in Utah to gain recognition for a great healthy deer herd, excellent management of a dwindling species, in our State but the deer a beyond screwed if option 1 or 3 are picked it will do nothing for deer numbers just piss off the 7000 utards that didnt get their tag.

P.S. just for fun I looked at all the Doe shoots in Utah for 2010. Southern Utah is toast if all those tags got punched. From now on I will be applying for a save a Doe permit each year.
